This is a list of the bird species recorded in Guatemala. The avifauna of Guatemala include a total of 732 species, of which one is endemic, two have been introduced by humans and 23 are rare or accidental. Of these species, nine are globally threatened. This list's taxonomic treatment (designation and sequence of orders, families and species) and nomenclature (common and scientific names) follow the conventions of ''The Clements Checklist of Birds of the World'', 6th edition (2010 update). The family accounts at the beginning of each heading reflect this taxonomy, as do the species counts found in each family account. Introduced and accidental species are included in the total counts for Guatemala. The following tags have been used to highlight several categories. Although they look similar to other ground-dwelling birds like quail and grouse, they have no close relatives and are classified as a single family, Tinamidae, within their own order, the Tinamiformes.
